Roulette Which betting type suits your personality?

So it's been said that roulette is indeed very flexible in comparison to other casino games and the reason for this is the variety of bets available. Being the laid-back and cautious person that I am, I tend to settle for the straight-up bet. I like to call myself a 'coward.'

I agree with you with regards to placing straight-up bets. I feel that betting on roulette can become ridiculously complicated so I tend to keep things simple and place straight bets based on color and double up on the same color if lose. I don't stay at the table for long as the longer I stay the greater my chances of losing.

Overall, I think roulette is a simple game that appeals to most people and that could be the reason why this is normally the loudest table in a casino. When I am not using the straight-up bet, I prefer to split a number between two bets. It is always my way of mitigating risk with the only disadvantage being the halving of the payout.

I randomly found an article about Kavouras bet. Have you ever heard of this betting strategy? It sounds a little bit too chaotic for my taste, although it does cover a large area of numbers. I'm also usually a straight-up player.

Any system you find on the Internet will lose, some will be good for a while, but they all lose eventually. If you have a lot of luck you might make it through your lifetime before it fails.

I am a straight up number better, non system and non progression. Progressions are the quickest way to the poor house.

Simple and clean for me. Methods like Kavouras, to me, are too "strategic" and are made for the more experienced players who like things complicated so they can come across to other betters as being experienced.

I am still learning the ropes when it comes to playing these games and betting online but I think that my personality is more suited to the strategic parts of the games.

I'm one of those people who are forever working things out in their mind. I like taking things apart, seeing how they work and putting them back together, and if I can I will devise a better system to make it more efficient so for me playing these games comes easy. I'm still learning, but I can already feel that soon I will be able to use my skills as an advantage when playing.

I once read about a guy who matches games to personality types. I wonder what game he would match me to. I find that my betting type is more simple and straight up bets are what I'm about.

I'm a true gambler at heart and that's why games like roulette will hold more appeal for me than games of skill and talent like poker and blackjack. I like that element of luck that comes into it and I consider myself aggressive when it comes to the bets that I make.

When it comes to games where luck has to be more prevalent than skill in order for you to win, I always tend to gamble a little cautiously.

I suppose that is a factor in how you play because if the chances of you winning or losing a game rest more on luck that on your skill and knowledge then that would definitely affect your playing 'psychology'.

Quite an eye-opening discussion. I have an aggressive and inquisitive personality but since I'm still new to roulette, straight-up bets are still my preference. I always opt to perfect one strategy before moving onto the next one.

What I like best about roulette is that it offers high returns. What other game pays at 35:1?
Craps is one of the best for low casino edge.

I am a very cautious gambler right now because I've only just started learning the basic rules of these games so I'm taking it slow for now. As soon as I get confident that I definitely know what I'm doing, I'm sure I will be more aggressive in my gambling.

If roulette is the game where you can win the most, isn't it also where you can lose the most? I'm just guessing here but don't high returns come with the highest risk?

I think you have the same chance of winning big or losing big in any game. I don't think that roulette has a higher risk than other games, but then again, I'm just an amateur so I could be wrong.

Check out the casino advantage for the different games. In some games -like Keno, or one arm bandits- you might as well flush your money down the drain. The casino's edge there is huge. In Baccarat, Craps and single -zero Roulette the edge is not too bad at all. But people usually lose a lot not because of the edge but because they don't have a money management strategy and don't know the rules of the game well enough. They end up losing all of their bankroll!
