What would happen if a minor bought a ticket then went ahead to win? I am thinking that this is one of those things that can present a catch-22 situation. My assumption is that the parent would claim the prize?
From an uniformed point of view, it would be the parent who would claim the prize. No one can ever admit to having sold a ticket to a minor. How are such situations normally handled since I've never heard of them before?
I've never heard of a minor who's ever won the lottery but I can imagine the kind of mess that such a thing would create. The places that I have bought lottery tickets before are very strict about age verification.
In most places, it is not easy for a minor to purchase a lottery ticket. Some mischievous minors trick adults into purchasing these tickets for them but I suppose that this creates an interesting scenario in the event that they win.
