Hey Hartz, I also really enjoy things that require me to exercise my mind, it's why I liked soduko so much as a little girl.I think that it just looked sexy from watching others play online and on TV and I wanted to do it, too. I also like anything that really needs me to exercise my mind the way poker does.
Yea, the excitement is the same as watching any other competition/sport. I hope you continue to enjoy the game.I love the excitement of it when I am watching others play the game, and I just wanted to experience that for myself. I'm still new to the game, but I feel that I'm doing quite well so far.
I've found that a lot of people catch onto this game by watching their parent or parent(s) play the game. I wish I could say that that was how I got started growing up, but unfortunately neither of my parents played. For me it was watching my father play growing up. I was bit by the bug and I have never stopped wanting to learn how to play. I'm finally indulging my dream and I love every minute of it.
Watching TV and playing cards sounds like a great way to pass the time, especially over some good ole classic shows/movies. Do your brothers still do this and do you join them now?One of my older brothers got me into it. Actually, they kind of all did because they all liked to play cards while watching Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, etc...

That is completely true. There is always a poker or casino scene in movies and TV shows these days, and they always make it look so luxurious and underplay how hard the games are.Don't you see a poker scene in almost every movie you watch nowadays? This sort of made me develop interest in it, in addition to seeing my friends win lots of money. Furthermore, there's some class that's normally attached to it.
