Slots Types of strategies and tactics

I read a thread here where someone stated that there is a strategy which involves waiting for machines while other people played and then playing on those machines afterwards as this increased the odds of hitting the jackpot. Is this a real strategy or is it just another bogus belief that some people hold?

Not sure about hitting "The Jackpot" but beating a machine in certain conditions is not a bogus belief but requires specific machine knowledge and lots of work.

I know a lot of people that play slots every day. They tell me that you should always bet the maximum so you have the option to hit the "BIG" jackpot. They also do the waiting thing when in their favor. They seem to win often. Way more than me, because I am a little too tight to spend that much money.
