Whichever form of gambling you're fond of, do you ensure that you stay updated with whatever happens in the industry and if so, how do you do this? I have realized that a lot changes occur frequently and there are huge chances that anyone can be left behind. Do rules change every so often, say in Poker?

Rules don't necessarily change, but variations of the game do. The line between those two distinctions can be very thin.

As far as keeping up with the industry, I like to scan the online publications that deal with casino industry news at least once a week.

I completely agree with you @zephyr 12 that there's a really thin line between variations and rules. I got used to gambling publications after frequenting my uncle's office. He was a successful architect and great Poker player as well.
