How much of winning at poker has to do with skill and how much has to do with chance (or luck)? I know a lot of people who think chance trumps skill, but I really don't agree with that. With the right level of skill, you can do well with poker.
I think it's a combination of both, really. One thing is for sure, though - it's important to keep emotions out of it. The focus has to be on the hand you're dealt and what you know the best strategy is for said hand.
Luck favors everybody so I don't think that it's a good thing to rely on it when playing poker. I actually believe that those players who put their faith in skill will always do better in the long run than those who trust in luck. As a beginner myself I'm beginning to understand the importance of ongoing learning and finding ways of improving your skills every day.
