Sports Research vs instinct

At times, I find myself betting, especially on sports, purely based on my gut feeling. This happens when there's little time to research. To win a bet, it has been said that you don't have to think too much and to some extent, this is true.

In actual sense, betting through instinct comes with experience because in a ideal situation, there's a lot of data archived in our brains and the gut instinct relies upon this.

Researching on a game or players in general requires time and effort. There are many times when I've won based on instinct. At times, you are on the road and there's not much time to dig into details. On the other hand, research can at times fail you.

I really don't think that research is as reliable as people think. I think that sometimes it interferes with people's gut feeling and can throw their bet off.
