General Job requirements for a casino dealer

I have always considered being a dealer, probably on a part-time basis, but then I came across information that special training is mandatory. Professional training seems much better and convenient than on-the-job training, right? What other skills would anyone require to be a dealer and is there an age limit?

I don't really know about the requirements of a dealer. I know they have to go to learn to do it properly. The show of hands after dealing is annoying but necessary I guess. If you happen to find out the details of becoming a dealer, post it up so that I can see too! Thanks for the info.

@June though I think anyone can be a dealer and earn a decent living from it, I believe that good training is what separates the boys from the men. I know a few people that started as dealers yet they are now leading gamblers. They always attest to the fact that gambling did mould them in a great way.

Around here from what I have heard the requirements aren't that much. You do have to be 21 and have a high school diploma. They have classes set up and you can go take the classes and if you pass you may be offered a job. You;d think there would be a little more to it, but that is all there is to it here.
