Sports Is there anything like blind betting?

I remember the first time I ever gambled, my selection of 7 tennis games was random, choosing the player with the lowest odds. To my surprise, I won $100 with a stake of $5. I continue doing this until lady luck abandoned me. It hit me that at times, it is just a matter of luck. You can try to apply all types of strategy but still fail to win.

It sounds like a fun evening, and rather profitable. How much did you make on your $5 stake in the end? Strategies produce small consistant winnings, when they work, but not the thrill of following your hunches and letting the bet ride.

Making that first hundred bucks must have been such a thrill for you. I remember my own first win and I also rode that wave until luck deserted me and I lost everything I had made that night.

What exactly is blind betting? Can someone please elaborate on this term for me? I assume it's when you make a bet without all the infomation but I could be wrong.

I suppose that that's what @randy is trying to put across. I think I have heard of people talking of blind bets in Poker which could mean a different thing. As far as this thread is concerned, I would term it as placing bets without really looking into the details/statisctics of the particular players/games.
