General How long have you been gambling for?

I'm genuinely just curious to know.

I started gambling around 15 or so years ago and have probably had a little flutter on something or other at least once a month since then. I can't particularly think of any reason why I wouldn't have had a bet in any particular month.

Like many hobbies, once you "catch the bug" you can't remember life before you got into it!

I'd call myself a late bloomer because I've been doing this for five or so years but so far I have no regrets. I really relate to 'catching the bug' because there's never a chance to look back once you're in there.

My family likes to gamble so I started young. We used to get together when I was still a kid and play cards. When I was younger with the family it was small bets with change. Once I turned 21 the family took me out to the casino and I was hooked!

If you want to call betting on a Euchre hand with the loser having to go to the fridge to get another round of beers, then 18.

I didn't really get heavy with it until about 25 years ago when I started betting on the Greyhounds. From there it was casino poker, slots, roulette.......whatever I felt like on a given weekend.

So all told.....about 35 years now

Oh zephyr 12 now you're talking - I haven't been to the dog track to watch greyhound racing in years!! Thinking about it, I guess that's how it might have started - I used to go out to the dog track as a social event even longer ago, more like 20 years ago.

Wow that made me think!

I didn't start gambling until later in my life, about 35. Before that, I was just too tight with my finances to give money to a casino. But, with longevity comes higher pay and that went out the window. I don't really spend too much on the casino but sometimes I regret having done it!
