I'm going to document my tips and bets here, so we can see how I get on. I'll start with my week 1 tips and continue on a weekly basis.

Firstly, I think Leicester are a good bet in the first game away to Hull, there are available at evens at the moment. I also like Man City at home to Sunderland, there are clear favourites so should be used to buffer an accumulator. Finally, I'm backing over 2.5 goals in the Arsenal vs Liverpool game. The mixture of potent attacks and weak defenses should result in goals.

Well, two out of three ain't bad! Leicester threw a major spanner into the works by losing away at Hull, apart from that things went pretty well. Man City won against Sunderland while Arsenal vs Liverpool resulted in 7 goals.

For the second game week I'm picking home wins for Manchester Utd and Tottenham. I also think that Man City will get a result away to Stoke.

I think you did well, especially because Leicester had plenty of possession but failed to break Hull at the final third. However, a better way to bet on the English teams is to choose a G-G result. Come to think of it, the results were Man City vs Sunderland (1-1), Chelsea vs West Ham (2-1), Tottenham vs Everton (1-1), Bournemouth vs Man Utd (1-3) and Arsenal vs Liverpool (3-4) just to name a few. I think placing single G-G bets on these games would still have worked. Did you win though?

This looks like it's going to be exciting. I think the EPL is the most watched league in the world because of the oomph and quality of football. I see wins for Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City this weekend. Arsenal away to Leicester also looks good as both teams will be looking to bounce back and avoid two losses in a row. A draw with goals going in both ways looks like a high possibility.

I think you're right. I like to wait a few games before I make bets that are goal based. I won on my double but lost on my treble. Let's see how I do this weekend. Going well so far.

The reason they say the English game is so difficult is because of its unpredictability. Unlike the past, most teams have raised their bar in terms of performance and it is hard to look at it as a league in which only a few teams dominate. For instance, Liverpool lost away to Burnley whereas recently promoted Hull City registered their second win, away to Swansea. If anyone adopted the G-G approach this weekend, like myself, it must have been a disappointing experience, to say the least.

Well there you go, 3 out of 3!! Manchester Utd beat Southampton at home, while Man City thrashed Stoke. Tottenham managed to sneak a late win against Crystal Palace. Will keep you posted as to my tips for next weekends action.

I would say Tottenham were lucky to snatch a late win against Crystal Palace and what a nice way for their new signing Victor Wanyama to make his presence felt with his first goal. I think you have a great understanding of this league and I will be checking to see what you have lined up for the coming weekend. What would you say about Chelsea scoring two late goals against Watford?

I think you have a good strategy, to concentrate more on doubles and trebles and from what I can see, it is not going too badly for you. I will be checking to see what your take on the games happening over the weekend will be.

Late goals can be lucky but there are also the result of sustained pressure. If you choose the team you feel to be stronger on paper, there is always the possibility they will continue to push until the final whistle and they can score late goals as a result. I feel this happened with both Tottenham and Chelsea.

So here we go for week 3, I'm tipping Chelsea to beat Burnley at home, Manchester Utd to go to Hull and get a win, and the game between Everton and Stoke to result in over 2.5 goals. Not too long to wait, let's see what happens.

Too bad I did not see this on time since all the results went your way. The Hull City vs Manchester United game was quite a thriller and I can see why sustained pressure yields a result. Pogba seems to be settling in really fast and we are beginning to see a glimpse of the old Man Utd.

I think I will coming to this board to check your predictions because they seem to be on point 95% of the time. It is interesting how the football season has gotten everyone busy looking at all sorts of odds and combinations. We are heading into the international break so out of curiosity, are there any games that you have started to look at?

Two out of three again, not bad but not perfect. The Everton vs Stoke game resulted in only 1 goal being scored, a turnaround from last season which was a 4-3 thriller. There's a break in the prem for a week, so I'll be back after the break with more tips.

International football is a bit of a different animal, but so far I'm looking for mismatches or teams which are coming off a good tournament at the Euros. Hungary, Wales, and Belgium all seem to have winnable fixtures. The friendly games should be even more straightforward.

I get furious when the international break interrupts the normal weekend fixtures and especially in a season like this. Chelsea, Man City and Manchester United have all started well and I cannot imagine how competitive the league this season will be. I have not looked at some of the international fixtures but I agree there are normally different dynamics involved here.

How about Portugal? They had quite an inconsistent run at the Euros, only winning with small margins but based on their opponents, I believe it will be a smooth sail. I haven't looked at the specific fixtures though I cannot wait for the Premier League to continue.

Portugal will be playing Gibraltar and this should be an easy one for them (the bookmakers are placing the lowest odds on them winning). Italy will be playing France, Belgium taking on Spain whereas Netherlands will be entertaining Greece (and I think it won't be a straight win for Holland). Interesting games to look forward to indeed.

Portugal easily beat Gibralter but the odds were nothing special, in order to benefit from backing them you needed to add them into an accumulator. The world cup qualifiers provide better opportunities for winning as there are results that are easier to predict and can be grouped together.

It really gets annoying at times when you have these great games with really low odds. Generally, sports betting becomes easier to win with the accumulators. Choosing straight bets limits your chances a lot.
