Slots Do you think that there is a way for the owner to decide who wins?

I was reading an article about slots and the subject was brought up that this person thinks that the casino can choose who wins and who loses simply by sending a signal to a particular machine. I'm not sure that I really think this is possible. What do you think?

I hope that isn't true as the randomness of the slot machines is what gives them their appeal, in my opinion. If somehow the owner of the casino was able to choose which one was lucky and when, doesn't that mean there's no such thing as luck?

Sounds like the writer of that article was a sore loser and started a conspiracy theory about why he or she never wins. It's not a matter of who wins a payout, but when that payout comes.

I agree with zephyr. It sounds like someone trying to start a conspiracy here. The owner may be able to tell someone they know about a machine that they think is near hitting because of the amount of money going in and out but they can't send a single to make it hit.

That is kind of what I was getting at. Thank you for clarifying my point. However, I was more on the line of one person watching a machine for that purpose. If I overheard a conversation like the one you mentioned between an owner and a player, I wouldn't be too happy. The gambling floor version of insider trading.

I'm relieved that others also think this can't be true and that instead it's a conspiracy theory.

It would break my heart to know the slots weren't random!

Yes! That's a good way to say it, it's exactly like insider trading. I assume that there are people who do this but I wonder how often it works in their favor. I can see them putting their friend on a machine and that friend losing a lot of money. Then as soon as they get up, the next guy hits with their first $20!

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. There are a lot of rogue online casinos that have been blacklisted on casino forums and websites, due to unethical practices. I personally only play at online casinos that have either a UK gaming license or Malta gaming license. These two regulation bodies do a pretty good job with their auditing it seems. If you want more information, I'm sure you might find some info here on the forum. But there is also a lot more info online. As many members have mentioned before, always do some research, before playing at a certain casino.

There are various tips are available for online slots, how we can assume who will win but there is always an uncertainty to get knowledge of the winner. According to me, this is the sore story of a loser.

I'm with the guy above that said that he would be very upset to hear something like that from an owner to an employee, right in front of me. I'm sure that I couldn't keep my mouth shut and would probably get booted out of the casino post haste. Can you feel me?
