General Do you drink when gambling?

It's a complete no-no for me. I drink in moderation but never at or near a casino (whether I'm at the physical one or playing online). People always say that a drink or two wouldn't do much but I know myself. I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I'm busy ignoring my losses and keep gambling regardless. I know that especially in Poker, you need to clearly judge the facial expression of your opponent. Who doesn't mind one or two for the road when playing?

Social drinking at the casino is okay for me though I mostly do this when not playing. It is true that it may be a distraction, especially in those casino games that require a lot of concentration. If you cannot exercise control, it is much better to stay away from it.

If I plan on betting big, I will not touch a drop of alcohol. If I'm just having fun at the casinos, I may have a drink or two, but never more than that.

I try to stay away from alcohol when I am playing. Like you, if I start drinking, I don't mind having another one, then another one etc. I'd rather stay sober to concentrate on the game.

It's not hard for me to say no to more drinks even if I've already had one, so I usually may have one drink to loosen up my nerves, but nothing more than that.

I tend to drink more when I'm gambling. Somehow it helps me to play better. I think I'm a bit too tense when I'm sober and it shows in the way I play but a few drinks take care of that problem.

I have a few drinks when I gamble because I find that it helps me to relax and loosen up. This is both good and bad because sometimes I end up being too cocky and losing a lot of money.

For me it depends on whether I am playing for fun or if I'm in a serious money game. If it's a night out with friends, for example, then I don't mind a few drinks, but for the more serious games I tend to stay away from alcohol.

I do not drink while gambling. It doesn't matter if I'm just doing it for fun or if I'm being serious. It messes up my concentration so bad, since I'm a light weight so I don't deal with it.

I usually have one or two drinks while I'm playing. It sort of helps to make me feel at ease. I tend to play better when I'm not tense and the drinks help to loosen me up.

At this point, I always have at least one drink during or before gambling to help relieve all my nerves, and it doesn't change how I play besides helping relax me.

I'm the odd one out, but I think that's a difference between sports bets and casinos. With sports betting you can place bets at the start of the season, day, or even evening if you've gone to the dogs, and then have a pint or two while you wait for the results to come in and watch the match or races. It's more social, even when the entire group is shouting at the television.

I don't drink much in general, so I never drink when I'm at a casino. I think it's not necessary. Some people find it fun to have a drink or two, but I'm fine without that.

While I am gambling I drink coconut rum and pineapple juice. There is also a place in Vegas called Fat Tuesdays, it like slurpee machines but alcoholic. They have hurricanes, strawberry daquaries and pina colodas, etc. There is one in the Dessert Passage, one in the Forum Shops and one at MGM Grand. Check it out!

Any drug will affect good judgement if intent is to win
Interestingly, there are people that believe a drink or two does them good. I agree that any drug clouds judgement and it is better to completely stay away from such.

Agreed. If I drink, my better judgment goes right out the window. I only did that once and the next morning I felt so despondent about losing all that money unnecessarily, I cried for hours. After that fiasco, I don't drink any more when I play unless you count the hordes of Dr.Peppers.
