I haven't done much sportbetting but I would like to know if it's possible to bet on a particular sport even though you don't know anything about the sport?

I don't think you have to know so much about that particular sport. When you get started, you find yourself getting familiar with the rules slowly by slowly. I have placed a lot of bets in tennis yet in the beginning, I only knew that most games are played in sets of three.

It is possible to walk into a betting shop or go to a betting site and bet on any sport. It just isn't likely that you will win, as you would be relying entirely on luck rather than making an informed bet. If you really don't know anything about the sport and want to bet on it, reading the papers and seeing what the commentators think might help you choose who to bet on. If they think one side has an edge, there has to be a reason why.

You have to have a rough idea of what that particular sport is all about, how much a game lasts and the basic rules. It is possible to ride on luck but this normally doesn't last. Gather as much as you can because research becomes a part of every gambler.

So in essence, it's just not advisable to bet on a game that you know little to nothing about, right? It would serve the person well if they took the time to learn more about the game before betting on it.

Sure, you can bet on a sport that you don't know much about. The chances of you winning are low though, so I'd recommend at least having the bare minimum of information on the sport.
