General Being greedy and not maintaining a bankroll

There's that feeling that comes with winning a huge amount that makes a player want to continue wagering huge amounts. This isn't advisable at all because chances are that strings of losses result. What does it mean when it is said that a player has to learn to stick to a bankroll? Was it easy for you at any point? I still struggle with discipline (at times) to date!

I'm afraid I'm not so good with discipline either.
Whenever I have a huge hit, it makes me feel like I'm invincible, and so I usually end up giving a lot of the winnings back!
That's why I make sure I always but myself something out of any huge hits these days.

I agree that it is hard to keep to a bankroll when you win big, however, I'm a little tight when it comes to gambling. If I win big, I usually run for the door as fast as I can!

That's a good approach. There's a friend of mine who always cashes out huge winnings and goes on to buy stuff as a way of discouraging wastage. I find this to be a good strategy. The downside is that a player may be tempted to go back and put in money that wasn't budgeted for, if no wins are forthcoming.

My philosophy is that you always have to treat gambling winnings as a bonus to the bank balance. You can't start relying on it as an income, that's when you get into problems.
