I love football for the simple fact that structures in the various teams has increased competition and enabled most of the clubs to invest in good players.

It seems that Real Madrid will have a hard time defending their Champions League title, this year. My prediction is that the winner will emerge from either Barcelona, Tottenham or Manchester City.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and PSG have been blowing hot and cold, for a greater part of this season. What are your thoughts? Any gambling ideas?

Barcelona. I know absolutely nothing about English Football, but I like Spain. And I like the word Barcelona. Especially when pronounced with the rolling N.

So Barcelona it is. Put me down for 20 pounds. :D

Well, Barcelona has had a good run lately and I think the good performance in La Liga has boosted the team's confidence. Real Madrid, on the other hand, suffered a 3-1 defeat against Tottenham, in their group stage. I think it is too early to tell who will mean because Barcelona will face a stiff challenge after the group stages are over. I do not want you to lose the 20 pounds :D.

So I take it you're for Madrid then? If you don't mind, what is a "group stage?" Is it like interdivisional games in the NFL?

This is the AFC East division in American football. Interdivisional play would be the Bills vs. the Patriots, for example.
