Whether you're doing the horses or the dogs, checking the bloodlines to see how much experience is there is a good strategy to use. It works fairly well for me.

Agree? Think I'm a genius? Disagree? Think I'm a fool?

Let's chat.

I've heard this works really well for horses so it doesn't surprise me that it works well for dogs too. How do you find out this information? Is it something that is given to you before you place your bet or do you have to investigate this all on your own?

This is a really good strategy. Most people will be tempted to choose a line or dog that is just beginning to win impressively but this could soon turn into a disappointment. I hear people say that if you are starting out, you should experiment on different bloodlines before deciding to settle on a particular one. This, to me, sounds like a great idea. What do you guys think?

I do pay attention to it to a certain extent with horse racing, but it definitely isn't the only thing to look at. There are a lot of factors involved and I study all aspects of race times, conditions, trainers, and jockeys/drivers.

I love watching and betting on horses at the racetrack. I too look at the bloodlines when I'm betting, but I also check out the weather report for the day since this can really impact the outcome of the race.

I think it's something to add into consideration. Though with horses, you'll need to factor in things such as trainer, jockey, and form. With dogs, it's important to look at the trainer and general form alongside the bloodline.
