Players from other nationalities

I have recently come across information that not all casinos accept players from all countries and I couldn't understand this at all. My assumption is that they normally base this on whether or not gambling is lawful in their home countries. Either way, does this (allowing these players in) pose any danger to the establishments?

I see no reason why casinos would place a restriction on players from other nationalities. Doesn't this hurt the business of these establishments? How would the authorities know that there are players from other countries in which gambling is prohibited? If there is such a restriction, I want to believe that it is normally applied selectively.

I've never heard of foreigners being denied in a casino. The only thing I can think of is that there could be a tax implication with their home country should they win a significant amount, but I would imagine that would be between the player and their government.

How much would this significant amount have to be? I think it is important for the player to always inform their government but it gets even more complicated if the sport is banned. How would it pan out if a player won a huge sum and gambling is outlawed in their jurisdiction?

I never thought of it that way before. I know that online casino gambling is illegal in some countries, but I didn't realize that B & M casinos have the right to refuse some individuals. Where would you go to be able to find out more information about this?

I've experienced the other side of the coin, I was able to bet in a casino in Seoul, South Korea that was open to foreigners but off limits to Koreans. You'd never have noticed as the place was packed full of a variety of different nationalities, with a lot of Chinese too.
