Does anyone purchase regular lottery tickets from the gas station still? I know a lot of people only like to do the bigger lotteries, but I believe you can still find some good scratch offs.

You are correct about that. Years ago when I lived in Texas, my husband had just had a daughter and we were so broke we couldn't buy any gifts for the 3-month-old baby. My husband being the gambler he is, bought a few scratch-offs. It was a miracle, he made over $300 the week before Christmas. The week after Christmas, he won an additional $250. I really like the scratch-offs.

I don't buy them, but my husband buys the scratch off cards. And it works out quite well, as I tend to get his winnings when he does win!

He won 50 on one the weekend before last and gave it to me :)

He is a good guy!!

I buy a ticket once a week. You never know when they might pull your numbers and you'll hit the big one. I have never won anything over a dollar yet but I keep my fingers crossed every week.

I remember there was a story in the press years and years ago about a guy who played the same number on the lottery for years, missed in one week and yep, the numbers came up.

He can't be the only poor guy it ever happened to. It doesn't bear thinking about, does it?
