Sports Changes in Sports betting?

Cricket betting changed a lot with the advent of Twenty20 leagues in 2007 and one-day games to bet on. There's a lot more interest in it now, probably because the games are shorter and players' forms can change more through the season so it's easier to get a feel for a team. Can you think of other sports that have had such suddent shifts in betting patterns, or were replaced by a new form of the game?

Well, I have never had an interest in cricket, but it is true that it has undergone changes over the years. I mostly bet on soccer, basketball and tennis and there haven't been much changes for a long time.

I thought online betting had opened a lot more things to bet on in soccer? People can now bet on the number of throw-ins and things like that. It has certainly changed from the limited football pools that used to be on offer.
