Craps Buying chips

So I have heard that Craps can easily be considered to be the most intimidating game in the casino because there are normally dozens of different bets available. However, what amused me is that when buying chips, the dealers do not make change for any cash put on the table. I am almost certain that there are people who have often been caught unawares by this.

So do you mean that there are people who will put down a $50 bill and then expect the dealer to give them a green chip, and a few red chips, and then the rest back in a dollar denomination? I've never seen them do this at all.

The only thing I can think of in this situation is that some people may have tossed money on the table and it landed "in play." You have to be careful about where you place cash on a craps table since the dealer cannot accept money handed to him/her and if it's the field, it could be considered a bet.

Addie, I wouldn't be surprised that there are people who would expect some change, especially those starting out. I think you can still redeem some chips for cash if you will not have used all of them (I stand corrected though).
