Do you think sports betting is something that a lot of people forget about, or do you think it's bigger in some places and not so big in others?

Sports betting is now a global phenomenon and I would be shocked to hear that it hasn't reached every part of the globe. Of course it is bound to be bigger in some places depending on popularity and how easy it is to penetrate certain jurisdictions.

I'd say sports betting is the most popular fo form of gambling because sports has a huge following the world over. Have you ever seen how the 70,000 seater stadiums are normally filled to capacity? In fact, l hear about sports betting everywhere I go nowadays but as @randy says, I think it is more popular in some areas.

Since sports is very popular around the globe, I think that more and more people are getting their feet wet, as far as sports betting is concerned. Besides, a lot has gone into advertising and more and more people are now getting informed.

I'd say that it depends on the popularity of a particular kind of sport in a place. People don't forget about sports betting easily. For instance, soccer is popular in England, whereas there's a lot of following of the NBA in the US.

This is absolutely true, for example in UK sports betting is massive, it is considered to be like going to the cinema

Very true and you can add Spain, Germany and Italy to that list. Sports betting has an aura that makes it attractive. If you ask most people, they probably got into this just because it seemed cool to try.

It's hard to think of a place where sports betting isn't popular yet. I like to look at it as a global phenomenon that is growing in popularity each day. People love sports and it is easy to see how placing wagers would suit them. It is so much fun when you are betting on something that you still love to watch.

@dh5164, what are these restrictions and is there a justifiable reason for this? I'd assume that there must be serious penalties for anyone violating them. There aren't many restrictions in my country but we could soon be going down that route.
