Slots When To Leave?

In your opinion, what is the best time to leave a slot machine and say "enough now!"? I have had times when I won and kept playing; only to lose it all again.

Any expert advice would be appreciated :)

I've heard it said that first and foremost, walk towards a slot machine with only the amount of money you're willing to spend. The truth is that you are more likely to lose your winnings if you stay at the slot machine for a long time.

I've disciplined myself to only accommodate my losses as long they don't exceed 25% of my winnings.

I'm a little boring. With most games I put half aside, but not slots. I don't play slots often anymore, but when I do I keep my playing money in one pocket and put my winnings in the other. When the first pocket is empty I quit, no matter what's in my winnings pocket...unless I hit the jackpot when I'd just stop playing. Nothing would ever beat that buzz!

That's a good approach. In essence, this means that you've limited and restricted your scope from the beginning. Slots are addictive and you can stay at the casino for hours. I also don't play it much but even if I did, I'd adopt your approach. It's very practical!

This is probably the best and smartest idea I have ever heard. It's a great technique to stop yourself from spending more than what you can afford to lose.

Slots are just entertainment. There's no money in it except for casinos.

Slots tend to be a complete rip off for the player. It is wise to not fiddle with them for long, no matter how addicting they are. I'd suggest having an amount in your head of how much you're going to spend that day.

I totally agree that there is lots of money in slots. For the casinos! I only play slots for fun and even then I don't use much. It's super addictive but I try to limit myself always and I like the idea of putting winnings in one pocket and money for gambling in another.

That is good advice. Personally I don't play much of any game where my expectation of winning is next to nothing such as is the case in slots. I prefer a game where my odds are better so I don't tend to play slots for very long.

I agree with you. I'm not a big fan of slots honestly. But I must say that I like the approach that @lordcole explained. I think that technique could be used for all kinds of gambling games; not just slots.
