A police agency makes a major drug bust. Cash, property, personal items and cars are all seized. Months go by, the case is finally resolved so then the police put those items into their next annual auction to get rid of surplus gained by these means.

A police agency makes a major illegal gambling operation bust. Cash property, personal items and even cars are all seized. Do these items also go up for auction later? Does anyone know?

The only time I ever went to any of those auctions was to buy cars. I never paid much attention to what else they may have had.

I would think that any and all recovered items from all busts would be held for a requisite amount of time then auctioned off. Of course, this is just my thoughts on the subject. The cops have some really big auctions at times. The cars are the bomb.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. Good to hear that someone else believes this to be the case.
