Blackjack What version do you play?

I was kind of surprised by how different a few changes to the house rules can make blackjack between casinos. I normally play double-deck but I know most guys play six- or eight- deck. The house hitting or standing on soft seventeen changes between casinos and deck numbers. What ruleset do you normally play or do you switch between them?

I'm relatively new to the game so I really don't have that much experience especially when it comes to switching between house rules. Personally I think that I will stick with the one strategy until I'm really good at it before trying to modify it or switch between casinos.

In order to make good game selection decisions you need to understand the value (to the player) of each of the rules and for various levels of deck penetration. We are trained to play those that we can get an advantage in and that we think the casino will tolerate our action.

Generally, you will find the best rules in the high limit rooms. With the pit having rules that get worse as the table minimum goes down. In Vegas it is very hard to find any good rule games at low limit tables (red chips).

DO NOT PLAY GAMES THAT PAY 6:5 FOR BLACKJACK!

MORE THAN DOUBLES THE HOUSE EDGE AGAINST YOU!
