I wasn't really keen on winning at first and so I would just head to a betting website and pick games at random. My concentration is mainly on soccer and over time, I have learned that research skills are important if any substantial amount is to be won. I mainly look at a team's home and away record, previous score lines, the performance in the last 5 games and the line-ups or injury list. This has worked for me severally in the past.

Those are some great things to look at when betting on a team. This is what I do when I want to try betting on something new that I might not know a lot about. I just wonder how many people bet on their favorite teams even when they aren't doing well?

I do not bet on my favorite team ever because in a way, I enjoy seeing them play. It adds to the pressure when you are betting on a team that you support. Hardly will I pick teams that I know nothing about.

With American football there are a lot of variables. Win/loss record, outdoor stadium/dome, natural grass/artificial turf, new player acquisitions/losses, the constantly updated injured reserve list, interconference rivalries, AFC/NFC matchups.......and the list goes on. To make steady money on football takes a great understanding of the game. Or sheer luck. That happens too.
