Blackjack The dealer's card facing up then down

So all the players have placed their bets and the dealer goes ahead to give each player a card face up including himself. Why is it that in the second round, each player is also given a card facing up whereas the dealer's faces down? I've always tried to understand this in vain (I know it is quite a basic question). I tend to think that in Blackjack, it is the dealer that dictates who wins or what do you guys think?

There are betting options available while the dealer's cards are on the table. You have options to split, surrender and double-down. Also the dealer is the last to show the full value of their hand to keep the mystery going until the end. After everyone reveals what they have, what they will win is determined by whatever the dealer shows. It's just more interesting this way.

I have not played Blackjack before but I can already feel that it is a very interesting game. I think this is the reason that card games in general are very popular. I think as a dealer you really need to be smart and alert all the time. What's normally his cut when someone wins?

In Blackjack, that card is called the "hole" card. This is the card that determines the next play in the game. It definitely makes the game more exciting that way because you never know what the next move will be until you see that card.
