There is a theory floating around that I would like peoples' opinions on.

Have you ever witnessed someone win a very large amount of money, yet they didn't show any signs of happiness that they did? Apparently those people are out there, and it is said that those people are more than likely gambling addicts.

They see winning as a distraction from the play itself and are rather annoyed by the distraction.

I can see the logic in that. Does that make any sense to you?

I always thought that they didn't get excited because the win would barely cover what they had lost earlier in the night. I never thought that they would be distracted by a win but I guess it could be to those with an addiction.

Well @zephyr 12, for a moment I almost thought you were talking about me. Whenever I win, you will never see a serious reaction on my face. I do not know how I would behave if I ever won the jackpot! Having said this, I would be interested to know what science has to say about all this. Sounds really interesting.

Well, with science, I only see one way they could go with this. Apply addictive behaviors associated with drugs or alcohol and see if they fit with the behaviours of some gamblers.

I don't know about other people, but I go crazy when I win! I will usually jump up from the machine and do my happy dance! I'm sure that others in the casino think I'm nuts, but who cares!
