Keno & Lottery Splitting the win

When the Power Ball gets big my coworkers and I always go put money in together and buy a lot of tickets. We all sign a paper that says we will split the money. Would this stand up in court? Does the money automatically belong to the person holding and cashing in the ticket? It would be awful if we actually hit one day and only one of us got to run off with the money.

Good question.
A signed piece of paper is a lot more than some syndicates even have and I wonder whether those people have ever thought about this. I suppose a small part of us thinks it would never happen and so would never be an issue..... but...

Well our boss actually made us sign a paper also. He said that if we all win the lottery we will quit and leave him high and dry. He had us sign a paper saying that we would stay for one month after winning so that he can find replacements!
