Keno & Lottery Scratchcards?

With the release of the $1billion Willy Wonka challenge, these have been in the news. There was a fair degree of anger from players when it was revealed it was a $1billion annuity or lesser lump sum, which should not be a suprise when they'd bought tickets at $10 each!

I avoid scratchcards because I don't like the odds or the small print. Do you play them? Have you ever won anything on them?

My granny used to buy them every week and I guess I got into the habit of purchasing them whenever I see them and I have extra cash to spare. I've won a few times but never a really substantial amount.

Scratch cards are great for when you have that extra money to spend and they are actually fun to play, but I don't think that they can be considered a viable means of making money from gambling.

We love scratch cards! I pick up about $25 worth each week. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose but we have so much fun scratching these. I haven't won anything big yet but there's always a chance that I will and that's what makes these so fun.

I have a great story about scratch cards. My husband (now ex) and I had just had a baby girl in October. He was working but I was staying home with my child. Christmas came around and we had nothing to buy presents with. We had car problems and that was more important than buying gifts. He bought three scratchers and won $650 the week before Christmas! To top it off, he won another $350 two days after Christmas! So needless to say, scatchers really are wonderful sometimes.

That was the best timing for a scratch card win I've ever heard!!

I pick one up every now and then, and have won my money back a few times, but nothing more than that.

With timing like that, who needs a marriage anyway? :p Just kidding.

Well, I'm glad that at least the scratchers worked out well for you. I have never won anything more than 10 bucks off those things.
