Is it possible to get your own roulette wheel to keep at your house? Is this even allowed? I don't know the laws pertaining to casino equipment. What do you think?

I think that you would have to ascertain with the state laws where you are. Generally, I don't think that it's going to be allowed unless it's definitely not in use and considered an 'antique'.

I think you are allowed to own one, because there are even versions available on Amazon along with the felts and table set-ups. What you can't do in most places is to gamble on it, let other people bet on it, or operate your own casino without a licence. If the authorities though you were doing that, they'd come down on you like a ton of bricks. You'd have to check the laws where you are.

It depends on the country. I have 3 wheels and am in Australia. its legal. But I spoke to the director of a manufacturer. They won't supply a new wheel to anyone but a casino in almost all circumstances. You can easily get an ex casino wheel in bad condition. Getting a wheel in excellent but not new condition still isn't so easy and needs politics if its a common design in modern casinos. They don't want people studying wheels to find ways to beat them.

You can easily buy a wheel from China but they are usually easily beaten and not good practise.

This might seem like a dumb question, but why would anyone want a roulette wheel at their house? What is the point if you're not going to make any money from it?

It would be quite a talking point, if nothing else.

Depending on the wheel you could use it for practice, playing for fun (gambling for worthless tokens rather than money), and possibly to detect any flaws in the randomness of a type of table, which is why few manufacturers sell new professional-grade equipment to people without a casino licence.
