General Lessons from a pro-gambler

I came across an article in which a professional gambler was being interviewed. Of particular interest to me when he (Alex King) passed on the important lesson that it is important not to bet on too many things.

For instance, he only bets on boxing and racing. I found it very practical of him to say that it is better to be an expert in one field, rather than focus on too many things and failing to be a master in any of these.

He is a household name and the excerpts of the interview can be found in the link below.

That he been gambling for 7 years is really intriguing. I wonder how much he's been able to gather in such a long period of time.

People assume that gambling is a cheap pass-time but it appears that a professional gambler's schedule is as hectic, busy and orderly, just like in any other profession.

I could never be organised or structured enough to do something like this professionally.

He must have such a manic structures schedule and have to keep so many balls in the air.

I think it takes a lot of passion and commitment to be at the top and remain there.

I see a lot of new players who have the imagination that gambling is an easy forte and it is lost to them that a lot of hard work and determination is needed.

I doubt if I can ever be like him.
