Roulette Is this a winning strategy?

Would you consider one bet on two columns in roulette and the probability of winning being 24/38 a winning strategy? What are your thoughts on this?

Take this example of betting $5 on both 0 and 00, then betting $15 on two of the columns. Others would say that by playing this way, there is a high chance of winning. The chances of winning $5 would 24/28, but then there would be a 12/38 likelihood of losing $140.

So what's the bottom line? I'm still new to this game and I'm also finding it really hard to come up with a strategy that I feel works for me. Any help would be appreciated.

I also don't get what that actually equates to. Is it a good strategy or not? There is so much to learn and so little time. I wonder if I'll ever really get this...

I don't think this would be a good strategy. Say you place $5 each on two columns and one wins, you will only get 2:1 odds back, so you win $15 which covers your bets but only makes $5 winnings. On average every third spin (slightly more if you allow for 0 and 00), you will lose $10 when the third column wins. Long term the odds catch up with you.

It sounds like a version of the Two Column Shuffle strategy, which relies on the bets on the columns not being the same.

The most popular betting options include all tips in the area of simple odds. Players can bet on either Noir (Black) or Rouge (Red). According to the roulette game rules, you can also tap both colours at the same time.
Simple odds with the same probabilities as in the Noir-Rouge game are Impair and Pair. In the former, the lucky player insists that the drawn number is even. The latter is an odd number. The zero is neither even nor odd according to the mathematical principles.
The numbers are divided into 18 numbers each on a Roulette field. With a bet on manque, a player taps the drawn number in the range of 1 to 18 inclusive. 19 to 36 is played with a yoke. Again, the profit chances are 48.7 per cent.

Maybe you should try a Martindale but change the bets putting more on if you lose.
