General Interesting gambling facts

It is not such a bad sport as most people love to regard it as. If you ask a few people how they perceived gambling before ever participating in it, there's high chance that they regarded it as a 'dirty' activity.

That aside, lotteries and gambling in general have been used to build many projects like the Great Wall of China. In addition, Las Vegas, where 68% of gamblers play slot machines, has the 8th busiest airport in the world. McCarran International Airport avergaes 850 flights a day, with most of the people visiting being gamblers.

If the revenues from gambling are dispersed in the right ways, they can be very beneficial indeed.

And all of the side businesses that get traffic and sales from the gamblers reap rewards from that industry as well.

Thank you for bringing up those points lc. It is good to be reminded of the benefits this industry has to offer.

Around here people were getting upset when the casinos started coming up. Now everyone see how many jobs these casinos have brought to our city and they aren't complaining too much anymore. Casinos can bring in lots of good things but people always tend to think of the bad.

I agree that if we use the taxes and proceeds from gambling in the right way, we can really benefit this country. Gambling creates jobs as well. I think that gambling really benefits the economy in many different ways.

It is interesting that despite its contribution to the growth of the economy in general, gambling is still loved and hated, in equal measure. I'd say that problem gamblers and/or addicts have played a big role in giving gambling a somewhat lukewarm reception among many people.
