Blackjack Helping other players

Is it allowed to help other players at the blackjack table when it comes to whether to hit or stand or is that against the rules?

As far as I know, you can talk to other players in a Blackjack table. Nonetheless, not everyone loves to talk.

Again, you shouldn't tell other players what to do, unless they ask for help, just the same way you cannot criticize another player's strategy.

I am asked frequently by players what they should do with a hand. My response is to give them the correct answer by saying, well what I would do is "XXXXXXX" but it is your money and I am good with whatever you do!

When I hit my 10,2 versus the dealer 5 or 6 many of the other players will classify me as an idiot who does not know how to play and, in extremes, leave the table to avoid me. Often, after chastising me for being stupid, ......... I love it.

I guess it's best to know what you're doing before you step up to the table to avoid situations like the one that you described, Stealth.

I guess fewer players at the table makes the game faster, but I've never understood that part of blackjack. Why leave a table because of a perceived bad player? Do they at least wait to see if you win before they walk?

I think the last thing you should be worrying about when you're sitting at the blackjack table is how the other players feel about you. Personally I would be happy to watch them walk away and it wouldn't bother me in the least.

I am not sure if it's okay to do that or not, but I would rather not talk to anyone while playing. It can be distracting too. But that's just me.

I think it is better not to. But if they do ask for your help, I don't see the problem there. I have never been in a similar situation though.

I think it's best just to play your own game and not try to 'help' others. What if your advice makes them lose and they get upset with you - what then?

In life, I have chosen to not let other people control how I feel. I would suggest the other players do the same.

I mean, in reality, it isn't against the rules or banned to communicate with the other players. However, it is entirely up to you whether or not you want to talk to the other players.

I would love for someone to help me at the blackjack tables because I always get nervous and forget everything I've read. But, like what was mentioned above, most people that I've seen at the tables don't want to talk. It breaks their concentration.

In your case June, someone who isn't playing would be your best bet. Know the house rules first and tell the dealer what's going on. The last thing you want to do is step on their toes.

Me, I don't take advice or give it while I'm playing. Especially if I'm on a winning streak.
