General Do You Consider Lottery Tickets Gambling?

I don't know whether I feel that lottery tickets are a form of gambling per se. The odds of winning a lottery are millions to one. In my opinion, that is not a real bet. You know that you probably won't win and the odds are high. Why people do it is beyond me. Why spend your money on something that is a virtual loser almost everytime!

This is a good way of analyzing it @June ,but come to think of it; would we ever have a winner if no one ever participated in the lottery? The lottery organizers make money through the various participants that send entries without knowing that there's very little chance of winning. I have never participated in the lottery before and I do believe that it may be the best time to start.

Anytime you spend money to try and win money it's considered gambling. No matter what the odds are in winning, gambling is gambling. I buy lottery tickets once a week because they are cheap and if I win, I will big!

I so agree with you @SjOnFire, buying lottery tickets is gambling. Doesn't matter the odds, some people never win at Blackjack, slots or whatever but they bet, go to the casinos and have fun. The lottery ticket for me is that feeling you get those 30 sec before you scratch it when anything is possible :) I guess it's like that for all casino games.
Still I have never won more that € 50

I have to say that there is only once did my husband won on a lottery ticket right before Christmas when my child was small. We were really broke at the time and it came in extremely handy. We were able to have a great Christmas because of it. Personally, I've never won anything significant.
