Sports Do you bet on high school games

Anyone here bet on high school games? In my town football is a big deal and our local team is undefeated heading to District Championship. I always bet on them and have won each time of course! A few of my family members tell me that it's wrong to bet on a high school team. How's it wrong? Do you guys bet on high school teams or do you think it's wrong as well?

I think people see it as wrong because, at that level, it's still supposed to be a fun sport to play. Get to the college and pro levels and it's all business from there.

Although I could see their point if they live in a small Texas town where football is a ticket out.

Are they perhaps trying to discourage you from gambling altogether? The thing is, there's nothing wrong with betting on any team or games for that matter!

No they are all gamblers themselves, they just don't bet on high-school teams. This year it seems that my luck is up as well. Our team got knocked out of the playoffs. They did an awesome job this year and I was not even upset that I lost my bet!

I can relate to the feeling of losing a bet then getting solace from the fact that a favourite team won or performed well. I am curious to know why your family would discourage you from betting on the high school games?
