Blackjack strategies seem to be a really hot topic with names like HiLo and Revere being thrown around. What's the differences between these? Does one strategy really give a play advantage over another?

Here is a technical analysis of most of the popular counting systems. High betting correlations and playing efficiency are hallmarks of the comparison but do not overlook ease of use as error rates in complex systems offset much of you gain in advantage.

Ok, I have never actually heard of most of those. Do they all play the same way or give the same outcomes on hands? How many systems do you need to know to play well?

The Hi-Lo strategy is actually the most popular and easiest to learn. It's been said to suit beginners and intermediate card counters. What do the pros prefer?

HiLo is by far the most popular strategy. You do not need to know multiple strategies although some work better on some games.

As the complexity increases then, generally, so does your advantage, albeit slightly, and so do the rate of errors. Therein is the trade off.

HiOpt II with an Ace side count is likely your best for shoe games. Brain damage to learn is likely double HiLo.
