I know of many players who have won fortunes in poker tournaments. But do these players also play poker on a regular basis in local casinos?

The reason I ask is thinking about it as an actual occupation

A potential problem with playing in a local casino if you are well known poker player is people might not want to play against you.

In a poker tournament you are bound to be up against tougher opponents.

Are you a politician? Well he's a guy in red suit hiding against lockers. I'd trust him more than you.

I think you'll find the players that have won millions at poker won the majority from tournaments with large pools. The thing to keep in mind is that in poker you are mostly playing against other players and it is a bit of a game of deception.

Poker is huge and you'll find it anywhere in the world so if you can find a good way to make money from it you aren't going to be short of casino.

Whether it is better to be anonymous or a celebrity would depend on the people you are playing against.

It could go either way with people wanting to play a celebrity, or wanting to avoid someone that is likely to kick their butts

I'm interested to hear from more people who favour poker over other casino games. It is one of the more stable games that relies on skill and not so much luck like roulette

I wouldn't so quickly say roulette is always luck. There are some legitimate ways to give advantage

What about craps then? I don't think anyone can honestly claim they can control the outcome of a throw. When it comes to roulette realistically how often are you going to find the right conditions?

I think the conditions for card games such as poker would be more predictable. That's why I focus mostly on blackjack I think there are less unknowns.

Dice control can be done. But the edge is a waste of time. 2% maybe. It might seem ok but there are much better options
