Blackjack Automatic Card Shuffling Machines or Hand Suffling

I'd like others opinions on this subject. I have noticed that shoes where the cards have been shuffled by an ASM tend to have clumping of low and high cards. This in turn leads to stiff hands for the players which tend to bust even though the dealer may have a stiff hand in turn. While when the shoe has cards which are hand shuffled, there seems to be a better distribution of high and low cards. Not to say you win every hand but I found that you sustain a longer life to play. Anyone notice this or am I just noticing a variance.

It would depend on the dealer. The modern shuffle machines are pretty good but there will always be clumping to some degree unless they really shuffle the hell out of the cards.

Dealer or shuffle machine doesnt matter though because you need to compare previous card clumps with future card clumps, then you get a better idea of shuffle patterns. That would probably be harder to do with real dealers because they are all different. At least a robotic mechanism doesnt change based on mood.

You would have to figure that the machine would not be able to shuffle all of the cards exact each time, but does a dealer really do that good of a job either? Do you think that there are times when they shuffle poorly just to give the house more of an advantage?

Clumps are also going to be a by-product of the previously played deck, assuming the same deck is used. If the winning and losing hands come in clumps of a lot high cards, then low cards, it's only natural that the next shuffle will produce roughly the same. Unless, as Dicesetter pointed out, they shuffle hell out the deck.

The more hands you play, the more you'll start to recognise clumps and clusters of cards that have previously been used. It's very difficult for a machine to shuffle perfectly. Neither can the dealer, keep an eye on clumps you seen before, and use them to your advantage.
