Got A Buck?

I haven't paid much attention lately, so what, if anything, are the animal rights groups up to these days concerning horses? I used to play them and would like to get back into it, but I would like to know how stable (excuse the play on words) the sport is these days.

Steeple chasing often results in harming the horses. Many people in australia are trying to ban it. But also horse racing in general is harmful to the horses because they push them too hard for their age, and it causes bone problems. but the sport here is too popular to ban. Horse racing is part of Australian culture.

The horse-racing sport seems pretty 'stable' now. With Animal Rights and Welfare groups overseeing the races, horses dying during steeple chases is now a rare event rather than a regular one. There are always campaigners, but then there are people who campaign against keeping pets. With the international industry, and all the betters and supporters of the sport the chances of it being banned seem very slim. If you want to get back into it, now seems like a good time.

I haven't heard anything on the news about it, so I'm assuming all is quiet on that front. I'm sure it's regulated to the point and for long enough that stability isn't really an issue. Go for it.
