General Growing up in a gambling family

I know a friend who grew up amidst gamblers but he's never fancied going into a casino. I suspect that he might been put off by some family members who probably lost their possessions because of addiction. Is it easy to be exposed from a young age and not fancy gambling at all?

I wouldn't call my father addicted, however, he did like to bet on football games and horses when he had the chance. Most people told me that my dad was really lucky and won the majority of the bets he placed. That is really all the family that I know about that gambled.

I wouldn't say that it's easy, it's just that some people seem naturally inclined to do it while others aren't.

And I'm like you June, except I don't know if my dad was into this or not. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one in the family who picked up on this.

We all gamble at home, except my mother, and that's partly because she doesn't fancy sports as such. In fact, we had a hard time convincing my dad to get into sports betting because he had such a negative attitude towards it. Like @zephyr 12 mentions, this is one of those things that you can't generalize.
