Gambling can be entertaining, if at all you don't set your mind to making all that money through hitting a jackpot or winning the lottery. I enjoy the small but steady wins but hate it when I lose. In my opinion, I think is more of a social interaction among like-minded yet diverse individuals.

Hey luckysam, I totally agree with you. When I got into gambling a couple years back, the community is what kept me coming back even when I was losing a lot of money.

I agree with both of you about gambling being a social activity. There are many times when I've been forced to come out a break just because of the influence of my friends. The whole atmosphere around the casino is one that can easily get into a player's head.

Hi @Janina, that makes two of us. I remember that this is the same thing that kept me coming back, even when I was losing. There's a feeling about gambling that causes people to keep coming back.

I totally agree with you about the entertainment of it all. I love the machine sounds and meeting others that I know at the casino. I know that I'm not going to win big, but it is just a little mind-deterrent from the daily grind. Meet, drink and be happy!

There are cheaper and more fun forms of entertainment. If "gamble" it should be perhaps a once a year thing, with a controlled and set budget. Expect to lose. There's something about being the casino's fool that I don't like. It's one thing if you know you are going to lose eventually but still have fun, but it's another if you are convinced your system is going to beat the casino.

There are approaches that do work long term, but the majority of systems just fail and delude the player occasionally.

Yes, I agree that gambling is social for most people. I really don't know anyone who makes a living doing it. I do think that there is a larger propensity for addiction if you are a pro, simply by the fact that you have to do it day in and day out. I would be a raving lunatic!
